NorthTec's commitment to our students extends beyond the campus boundaries. We have solid partnerships with iwi, other institutions, industry organisations and advisors to further enable us to meet NorthTec's mission.
We pride ourselves on the fact that when our students are ready to leave us they graduate with the knowledge and practical skill base needed "in the real world" of business and enterprise. Through NorthTec's partnerships, students have direct links to industry.
NorthTec works closely with industry and businesses to meet the needs of the Northland community. We work with local businesses to provide our students with industry-relevant experience through work placements, internships, industry projects and on-site training.
NorthTec works in partnership with local stakeholders through Local Advisor Committees and Industry Training Organisations, to ensure that our curriculum meets industry needs.
If you are an industry representative, or represent a community organisation with relevance to a programme area and wish to be involved, please contact NorthTec Chief Executive, Wayne Jackson.
NorthTec also offers professional development to businesses. Please explore our Short Courses for more information.
Schools
NorthTec works with secondary schools to provide additional opportunities and experiences that meet the needs of students at your school. In addition to visiting your school, the Tasters, STAR programmes, Trades Academy programmes, information sessions and hand’s on interactive days provided here at NorthTec are practical, purposeful and aligned to assist students in their transition to tertiary study and employment.
